X1 Ships Adaptation Rules
Year First Available
SFB Advanced Technology ships (X-ships) will NOT be entered at the same Year First Available (YFA) in SFC. I recognize that players want to have an advanced era experience that possibly does NOT include X-ships. To make that possible, we set the YFA in the Y190s, later than any 'late era' ships, but before 'advanced era' begins.
Also, the YFA has to be Y198 (35) or earlier. If it's Y199 (35) it'll pop up in Advanced era only.
What you do:
- Take the YFA for the ship.
- ie: F-CCX is Y181 (the first!)
- Add 10 years, so that there's some distance between Late Era and the X-ships.
- reduce to Y198 if Y199 or over.
- I subtracted 5 years to the YFA for a lot of ISC X ships.
- substract 163 years, the year 0 as per the SFC shiplist
- the result is what is put into shiplist.txt
- ie: F-CX in SFC is marked to be at year 28
- ie: L-STX in SFC is marked to be at year 35. It would have been 36 but that's Advanced Era.
Year Last Available
For an X-ship in SFC, it'll like just be '999' no matter what. Check with FireSoul/Luc if you don't think so.
Base Refit class?
- Bases and stations are refitted.
- Ships are new construction
- There CAN be exceptions. Some ships WERE overhauled so extensively that they were an extensive refit (a rebuild, really)
- ie: F-CCR -> F-CCX ( NCC 1701 USS Enterprise, of course )
- There CAN be exceptions. Some ships WERE overhauled so extensively that they were an extensive refit (a rebuild, really)
Plasmas
- PLaL
- These are PLaGs in SFC.
- Decrease the BPV of 0.5 per mountpoint for the loss of stasis. Round-up at the end of it all.
- PLaM
- Put these in as PLaR and increase the BPV by 10, each
- ISC Rear Plasma-Fs (PLaI)
- All ISC Advanced Technology ships with PLaL need to be reduced by 2 BPV for *each* PLaL and be put in as PLaI
- However, increase the BPV by 1.5 BPV per plasma-I because SFC PLaI are far better than SFB's.
- Note: They are PLaL (PLaG with stasis) in SFB! We would thus be downgrading them to remain compatible with SFC.
- This doesn't apply to the X1-R Refit Rules: Just don't upgrade the PLaI there!
- ie:
I-CCX: 6 PLaL means: - 2x6 = -12 BPV + 1.5*6 = +9 BPV PLaI conversion total: -3 BPV
X-Batteries
- Multiply the SSD's number of batteries by 3.
- Increase the ship's cost by 0.5 BPV per added battery for the extra hull hit.
ie:
5 X-Batteries -> 15 Batteries +5 BPV
UIM
- Ok. At this point, just give the UIM for free, all right?
- Also see: All disruptor ships get UIM in SFC
MechLinks and PFs
See: PF Tenders, base Interceptors, and BPV
Note: As always, Lyrans, Gorns, Romulans and TigerHeart use PFs but no fighters. If you're setting PFs on a ship from a different race, forget it. Exceptions: WYN can use subsets of Mirak, Klingon or Lyran. LDR can be part of the Lyran shiplist (no fighters).
If the ship has built-in mechlinks (not mechlinks you added in because you thought it would be cool if..), then the ship MUST also get interceptors.
EXCEPTION: Bases get PF+ (not leaders). To calculate a base's BPV, Add the BPV of each PF+.
Fighters
Note: As always, Lyrans, Gorns, Romulans and TigerHeart use PFs but no fighters. If you're setting fighters on a ship of those races, forget it. Exceptions: WYN can use subsets of Mirak, Klingon or Lyran.
See: Carriers: 2/3 SFB Fighters, base fighters and BPV
If the ship has MegaHeavy fighters that connect via mechlinks
- stop. You can't do this ship in SFC.
If the ship is a Hydran X-ship
- BPV of the fighter will be included in the BPV of the ship. Don't increase the BPV.
- do the count as normal, but assign instead H-KillerBee.III fighters.
