Carriers: 2/3 SFB Fighters, base fighters and BPV

Carriers

Here are a few basic rules about SFC carriers:

  • Carriers in SFC can carry a max of 24 fighters
    • 4 groups of 6 fighters
  • there can be no more than 4 groups
  • there's no difference between a single space or double-space fighter (ie: bomber), so everything is single-space.

Because of these limitations, fighter carriers from SFB require some conversion rules.

  • double the count of double-space fighters and count them only as single-space fighters for SFC use
  • Multiply the number of fighters by 2/3. Drop the fractions.
  • set up ONLY the basic early fighters, except for ships that state "BPV Includes Fighters"
    • (ie: Hydran X ships)
  • increase the BPV of the ship if its BPV did not already include the fighters.
    • (ie: Hydran X ships)

All SFC:OP races with fighters now all get equivalent and almost identical starter fighters. This is the base fighter for all carriers unless the ship states that its BPV included fighters and should have advanced fighters only. All the base SFC fighters cost 2 BPV.

ie: Fed uses the F-Hawk.I.

Example conversion

The Klingon C7V carriers 12 fighters in SFB.

  • 12 * 2/3 = 8 fighters. (2 groups of 4 looks good)
  • set up 2 groups of 4 base K-Swift.I fighters on the ship (2BPV fighters)
  • increase the ship's BPV by 16. (2*8)
