PF Tenders, base Interceptors, and BPV
PF Tenders
Here are a few basic rules about SFC carriers:
- PF Tenders in SFC can carry a max of 4 PFs (Pseudo-Fighters)
- 4 groups of 1 PFs
- there can be no more than 4 PFs.
Because of these limitations, PF Tenders from SFB require some conversion rules.
- Multiply the number of PFs by 2/3. Drop the fractions.
- if there are only 2 PFs, or 1 PF, don't do the 2/3. Use that number.
- set up ONLY the basic Interceptors
- Interceptors are worth 10 BPV each
- exception: bases! Give bases a decent PF Flotilla.
- increase the BPV of the ship by the value of the interceptors
All SFC:OP races with PFs get basic Interceptors, worth 10 BPV. They do vary slightly, but they are very fragile and can easily be killed.
Casual PF Tenders
It is possible to install 'mechlinks' to ships not designated as PF Tenders. These mechlinks can only be added after PFs have become available. They cost 1 BPV each and there can only be 2 of them.
In a case like this, the value of the ship would increase by 22 BPV: 2 mechlinks and 2 Interceptors (10 BPV each).
Note: I gave the Lyran and TigerHeart ships casual PFs on just about all ships! Bewarned! Also, I have Casual PFs on all Fast Cruisers of the races that can have PFs. ie: Romulan or Gorn fast cruisers.
Example SFB conversion
The Lyran PFW has 6 mech-links and can carry 6 PFs.
- 6 * 2/3 = 4
- set up 4 groups of 1 intercetor
- add 40 BPV to the value of the ship
